Working in Collections Account makes you feel like you have earned a good reputation, that it’s not just an easy job you have gotten into, like knowing that it is not just for everyone to dabble with, like people would say that whoever works here must be really smart.
In a nutshell, what commonly happens between the agent and the customer is like this ‘’A collector calls you, you get annoyed or kind of uncomfortable about the idea of paying the bills before the due date, therefore, giving the collectors agents a headache by not being receptive to them.
Conversely, when you’re the agent who calls and collects, your customers are now the ones who avoid you or give you a “not so nice” attitude. Fortunately, that is not always the case as it is not the type of experience you get most of the time.
Job Responsibilities
What usually happens at the beginning upon giving them a call “Hi my name is ____ from Universal Solar System Credit Card. I’m calling to notify you of your account balance.”, the customer would be receptive if he was in the mood and would want to know now when he has to get it settled. A Collections agent usually would have leads or lists of people they would call for the day. Let’s say you need to call 100 plus customers, out of 100 only roughly 20-25% of them will answer. That’s kind of like the bare-bones of this career like what really happens and how it works.
You get more money in a more efficient way.
Here’s a short story worth sharing, Ariel one of my neighbors back in the day had started a Water Station business which came from his savings as a collections agent hence his OFW wife from Hongkong was able to go back home in the Philippines and had the courage to just live with him for good. What a wonderful ending.
Some people might think that it’s hard or maybe the job might make you feel awkward about the task of convincing a customer to settle and pay the bills even the ones who won’t actually run away from their responsibilities and would actuall comply.
In spite of all these stuff just inhale and exhale, stay focused because the best parts are the payday and getting all the commissions.
With all that being said, don’t be afraid if ever the employer who hired you assigned you to handle collections account because, with it, you’re going to be able to earn more beyond what you expect, be able to live your best life and be able to share your blessings with your friends and family.
